Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Wichita, KS – Onsite

Job Type: Part-Time, Paid Hourly

Travel: Must have a car and valid license. Will be required to travel from our main office to panel shop (about 1-2 miles).

Overview

This role is primarily responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems, detect malfunctions and needed repairs, makes notes and recommendations. Ensure that heating and plumbing systems perform at optimum functionality, upkeep landscape and common grounds of the facility. Perform general cleaning.

Essential Functions

  • Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, etc.)
  • Maintain and utilize tool management system
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Prepare the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, doors, etc.)
  • Run errands as required
  • Clean parking lots, perform general lawn/yard maintenance and snow removal of areas
  • Order parts and maintain required documents
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • General understanding of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Familiar with safety regulations and guidelines
  • General carpentry and construction knowledge
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Related work experience

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) occasionally
  • Must be able to sit or stand continuously, sometimes up to several hours at a time
  • Must be able to walk on uneven ground
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, squat, crawl, kneel and climb occasionally
  • Must be able to occasionally tolerate challenging internal/external environmental conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, extreme cold, wind and humidity
  • Must be able to wear PPE as required
  • Must have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, read technical diagrams and schematics and distinguish colors
  • Must have the hearing acuity to hear alerts, alarms and communication from team members
  • Must be able and willing to travel by car between office and panel shop as needed
